JESUS God’s love gift to You

Everybody loves receiving gifts, specially from people who love you, it is always an exciting time when you have to unwrap those gifts. Some cultures have gift giving traditions like at Christmas and other festive occasions.

Gifts are great, God is a giver of gifts too, the Word says every good and perfect gift comes from Him, all God’s gifts are just right for occasion. We all have friends or relations who have given us gifts that we really couldn’t relate to, well, we appreciated the thought but we really couldn’t use the gifts, sometimes we simply passed them on to someone else or we just tucked them away somewhere.

God knows all our needs and his gifts always minister to us, there is a sense that everyone enjoys the goodness of God, the gift of life, family, friends, the beauty of nature etc all these are God’s gifts to humanity because we didn’t create them, we are only recipients of God’s goodness to all men.

This was what Jesus was saying when he said

God causes the rain to fall upon the good and the bad and sun to shine on all men. But God has so much more to offer, He has the Gift that trumps all other gifts

God is good and He is love, something you know about love is that it gives and is always very generous to the object of its love. It is impossible to use the word love and selfishness in the same context. It is possible to give without loving but it is not possible to love without giving.

Love gives but it gives according to its capacity and nature, in other words what I am able to give will depend on the resources available to me and the degree of love in my heart.

God loves and gives according to his nature and capacity and that is a huge capacity friends.

I remember sometime ago when the Lord compared my needs as a 500 liters tank and His supply as the endless ocean!

James said every good and perfect gift comes from God. Wow! God’s gifts are both good and perfect.

Every desirable and beneficial gift comes out of heaven. The gifts are rivers of light cascading down from the Father of Light. There is nothing deceitful in God, nothing two-faced, nothing fickle.  He brought us to life using the true Word, showing us off as the crown of all his creatures.

James 1:17-18 THE MESSAGE:

Some years ago I read his scripture and it has never left my heart

For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten son that whosoever believes in him should not perish but have everlasting life. John 3:16

This scripture hit me where it mattered, right in my heart. Jesus is God’s good and perfect gift to us; He is the total expression of God’s wholehearted love for a sinful, unworthy and condemned world, a world at enmity with him and his purposes.

God loves you and Jesus is perfect proof of that.

One of Satan’s greatest successes is convincing us that God is either very mad at us or that He is trying to make our lives miserable and bland and to be honest some ‘christians’ have helped him in this venture.

No! God loves us and has done everything he can possibly do to bring us into the experience of His love, because God’s love is a gift, it cannot be fully enjoyed until it is accepted and opened, Jesus is God’s love gift to us that never stops giving.

It will take a lifetime to unravel the depths of God’s love and grace available to us through Jesus Christ

…that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the width and length and depth and height —  to know the love of Christ which passes knowledge; that you may be filled with all the fullness of God.

Eph 3:17-19 NKJV

God has not loved us because we were worthy of his love, or because we are righteous or good enough, he loves us because we were created in his image and he has chosen to love us. God’s love is a miracle and there is nothing more miraculous than Jesus, the living Word that became flesh and dwelt amongst men, he walked on this earth for three and a half years demonstrating God’s love in healing the sick, delivering the oppressed, feeding the hungry and crowning that love by becoming sin for us and giving us a chance to have our sins forgiven and receive a fresh start in life as children of God.

But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Rom 5:8 NKJV

Love so wonderful, love so rich, love so miraculous is the love of my God to me.

Dear friend, God loves you, this is not the word of a preacher, it is the message from God’s love gift himself-Jesus Christ.

God’s love is the perfect balance to his righteous judgments; his righteousness declares ‘the wages of sin is death, a life of condemnation and separation from him in hell fire’  but his loves finds not just a way of escape but a way to restore to humanity everything that sin has stolen.

Make no mistake about it, at the root of every disease, every divorce, every act of hatred and every evil thing on the planet today is sin, the cure is Jesus, God’s love gift.

Think about this, every gift unaccepted or unopened offers no value, Jesus has been offered, God can do no more, Jesus has died, an offering for sin, a new covenant has been established, even he can do no more, the question is what will you do? Will you accept the gift or reject it?

God tells us how to receive this love gift, he says believe it, to believe is more than to mentally acknowledge the fact, it is to commit wholly to it and lean on it as a basis for future action or conduct. What you believe you live by.

The world acknowledges Christ, they do it when they acknowledge a day like Christmas but you can do more, you can accept the Christ of Christmas and act on that belief by praying this simple prayer.

Dear God, I come to you today, I thank you for your love and the gift of your love Jesus, I confess that I am a sinner, unworthy of your love and grace, but I believe that Jesus is your love gift to m, I receive this gift in my heart, I believe that Jesus did die for my sake and is raised up for me and I confess and acknowledge him as my savior and lord.

Thank you Lord for your love and grace.

When you accept the gift, you open it, the way to do this is by growing in the knowledge of the gift- Jesus Christ, in a rough way, it’s like buying a new phone, you buy it first then begin to read the manuals or us it to discover new functions, the functions you really discover will depend on your willingness to explore the full ranges of available functions.

There’s healing in Jesus, righteousness, purpose, deliverance, protection, intimacy, power, joy and so much more.

This Christmas I want to encourage you to commit yourself to exploring God’s precious gift, Jesus, every day of your life, as you discover one thing will strike you and it is the unparalled riches of God’s love and all that it brings.

As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,  rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.

Col 2:6-7 NKJV

Dear friend, I say this with all my heart; the greatest discovery you will ever make in your life is Jesus God’s love gift to you. The gift that is just right and fitted for you.

God bless you, have a Merry Christmas and a fully fulfilled New Year
