“Most assuredly, I say to you, he who believes in Me, the works that I do he will do also; and greater works than these he will do, because I go to My Father.   And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.   If you ask anything in My name, I will do it. Imagine telling the average ‘believer’ that they can heal the sick, cast out devils, stop the elements an generally walk in the supernatural just like Jesus, I bet they would look at you as if you were mentally unstable and even if they agree with you, most of the time it will be their mouths talking and their hearts.

I remember one time I was speaking in a meeting and I said something like this, immediately I said so, I felt the Holy Spirit telling me that someone had just said ‘this is for only brothers not sisters’, so I stopped speaking and repeated what the Lord had shown me, after a little while a sister indicated she was the one who said that in her heart, the lord knows what you are thinking in case you don’t know.

I asked her a question; I mean the ssister, were there sisters in the Upper Room when the Holy Spirit fell? She said yes, I then said to her, the Holy Spirit fell on the ladies for the same reason he fell on the guys, it was to empower them for the works of service.

But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you; and you shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

Acts 1:8

Every believer can and should do the works of Jesus, Jesus said plainly and clearly he who believes in me will be able to do what I do and even greater works than these shall he do also, wow! That’s a high bar but Jesus said we can.

Jesus is a believer, he has faith in you and me that we will not fail in this precious assignment and ministry.

All over the world people are full of fear and terror over the Covid 19 virus thing, hand sanitizers that sold for N700 now sell for about N19,500, why? Fear but we have no reason to be afraid, we have the solution, the name of Jesus, the power of the Holy Spirit, the blood of Jesus and the word of God. Haleluyah!

We are the ones that God has staioned on the earth for such times like these, but unfortunately many of us are part of the fear and terror epidemic.

Jesus was God’s intervention agent on the earth to put a stop to the devil’s activities and to establish God’s kingdom on the earth. He has commissioned us to be a continuing part of his ministry of salvation and deliverance and we can only be effective using the same tools that He used.

This plan is not an after thought from God, it was part of the original mandate Jesus received even before he came to the earth, look at this

Here am I and the children whom the Lord has given me!

We are for signs and wonders in Israel

From the Lord of hosts,

Who dwells in Mount Zion.

Isa 8:18

Or this

Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise Him;

He has put Him to grief.

When You make His soul an offering for sin,

He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days,

And the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in His hand.

Isa 53:10

Jesus repeated the same in Mark 16

And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature.   He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.   And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues;   they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”

Mark 16:15-18

See the works of Jesus are related to the preaching of the gospel, this is what every believer is supposed to be passionately doing. It should be our normal experience.

The challenge many of us face is that we have not been trained or raised with this understanding in mind, we think that these things are meant for ‘big men and women of God’ but really we can see that they are meant for very one.

Part of the reasons why God raises up through Jesus ministers of the gospel is so that they can teach and train the Church to walk and live out Christ daily doing his works and prolonging His days on the earth.

The truth is that to do this you will need to be trained, taught and equipped but this should be going on daily in our Churchws and by observing the examples and miniatry of those whom God has set in the Church.

Vey quickly I want to lay a foundation of knowledge on how you can go about this

Now that tyou see and agree with Jesus on how this can be done, you need to understand that you can learn a lot from Jesus himself as to how you can do his works just as He did the works of the Father.

It is not by your power

Jesus did not do any works just because he was God , remember that he came as aman and because of this God had to anoint him as a man in other for him to do the works of God.

How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Acts 10:38

The primary purpose  of the  baptism of the Holy Spirit is power or ability to do the works of Jesus Christ and this has not changed today.

One of the most important things to keep in mind when talking about the power of God and ministering in the name of Jesus is the need to rbe in the place of abiding relationship with the Lord, what the bible refers to as believing in Christ.

Abiding in Christ helps us in developing a sensitivity to what the Lord is doing per time, doing the works of Jesus does not mean you do what you want to how and when you want to do. Jesus was sensitive to what the Father wanted to do and say per time and doing and saying it.

Use your authority

Now when He came into the temple, the chief priests and the elders of the people confronted Him as He was teaching, and said, “By what authority are You doing these things? And who gave You this authority?”

 But Jesus answered and said to them, “I also will ask you one thing, which if you tell Me, I likewise will tell you by what authority I do these things:   The baptism of John — where was it from? From heaven or from men?”

Matt 21:23-25

The people wanted to know by what authority Jesus did what he did, Jesus told them, he said I am come in my Father’s name or I am come by my Father’s authority. Jesus knew that he had the authority do do what he did, the devils recognized his authority and the people acknowledged that he was amanof authority.

Then He went down to Capernaum, a city of Galilee, and was teaching them on the Sabbaths.  And they were astonished at His teaching, for His word was with authority.  Now in the synagogue there was a man who had a spirit of an unclean demon. And he cried out with a loud voice,  saying, “Let us alone! What have we to do with You, Jesus of Nazareth? Did You come to destroy us? I know who You are — the Holy One of God!”

But Jesus rebuked him, saying,  “Be quiet, and come out of him!” And when the demon had thrown him in their midst, it came out of him and did not hurt him.  Then they were all amazed and spoke among themselves, saying, “What a word this is! For with authority and power He commands the unclean spirits, and they come out.”  And the report about Him went out into every place in the surrounding region.

Luke 4:31-37

Jesus gave us his name as a symbol of our authority, all we have to do is to believe in his name, in other words have confidence in the authority that he has given us .
