Happy New Month, May this month bring you great and mighty victories in Jesus Name.

I want to show you very quickly from God’s word how you or somebody close to you can be free from the power of the spirit of infirmity.

Let’s read together

Now He was teaching in one of the synagogues on the Sabbath. And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity eighteen years, and was bent over and could in no way raise herself up. But when Jesus saw her, He called her to Him and said to her, “Woman, you are loosed from your infirmity.”   And He laid His hands on her, and immediately she was made straight, and glorified God.

 But the ruler of the synagogue answered with indignation, because Jesus had healed on the Sabbath; and he said to the crowd, “There are six days on which men ought to work; therefore come and be healed on them, and not on the Sabbath day.”

 The Lord then answered him and said,  “Hypocrite! Does not each one of you on the Sabbath loose his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it away to water it?   So ought not this woman, being a daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound — think of it — for eighteen years, be loosed from this bond on the Sabbath?” 

Luke 13:10-17 NKJV

This woman was afflicted by a spirit of infirmity, what is a spirit of infirmity? A spirit of infirmity is a demonic presence that attaches itself to an individual and causes a seemingly incurable condition.

People are sick for different reasons, all sickness is the work of the devil, but some disease conditions are the direct work of evil spirits, these spirits often take the identity of whatever conditions that they cause in the body. For example Jesus cast out dumb and deaf spirits.

 Conditions that are caused by such malevolent entities will not respond to medical treatment or even ‘general’ prayers; they will have to discerned and cast out.

Some years ago, a friend of mine asked me to pray with her, she suffered from extremely crippling pains during her monthly circle. As my practice is I laid my hands on her tummy region and prayed for her healing, I then asked her how she felt, she said she was still in pain.

I laid hands on her the second time and was about to pray again, when the Holy Spirit said, ‘it’s a demon, cast it out’

This time I laid my hands on her and commanded the evil spirit to turn her loose and come out’ as I did so she said, she felt something just sort of take wings and fly away and immediately the pain disappeared. Praise God!

Can we overcome the spirits of infirmity? Can we resist Satan attempts to afflict us with seemingly incurable diseases? Yes we can! It is God’s will that we be free from sickness disease and all that Satan brings.

You have authority

Then the seventy returned with joy, saying, “Lord, even the demons are subject to us in Your name.”

And He said to them, “I saw Satan fall like lightning from heaven.  Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.  Nevertheless do not rejoice in this, that the spirits are subject to you, but rather rejoice because your names are written in heaven.”

Luke 10: 17 – 20 NKJV

Not only can you overcome the spirit of infirmity seeking to attack you, you can also help people to be free from their attacks.

How can you do this?

Submit to God

Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.

James 4:7 NKJV

 Look sickness is the devil in action,  but you have a part to play in seeing the back of sickness in your life, thank God for the many anointed men and women through whom He is working today, but when the crunch get to the crunch, you have to resist the devil for yourself.

Did you notice that it was people who had submitted to the authority of Jesus in their lives that He empowered to heal the sick and cast out devils?

I am not just talking about people who go to Church or claim to be born again but people who are living daily in a relationship with God through Jesus, who are seeking to obey and please Him in all things, people who take His word seriously.

You submit to God when you submit to this word, when His word has first place in your life, when you hide his word in your heart, because the authority to resist Satan flows from your submission to His word.

There are many who still argue against divine healing, that is not submission to the word, in healing terms when you embrace the word of healing, that diseases are overcome and healing comes by the stripes of Jesus, you are submitting to Jehovah Rapha the Lord your healer.

The message of Jesus Christ is all about submission, that’s why we call Him Lord, when we submit we can exercise our authority through His Name with confidence, knowing that He is backing up everything we say and do.

James wants us to know that we will have no real authority over Satan if we are not submitted to Jesus; it is Jesus who defeated Satan and stripped Him of his power over those who believe.

Resist the devil

Not only must we submit to Jesus, we must resist the devil and all his works, can I say it again? Sickness is of the devil. It is not the will of God for us to be defeated by it, that’s why Jesus went about doing good and healing all that were oppressed of the devil.

We resist the devil by faith; we declare our victory over his works and his agents! We command evil Spirits to come out and they will!

The disciples said, even the spirits are subject to us in your name! Glory!

Take authority over the demon causing that migraine and command it to leave and command healing to yourself, can you do that? Yes you can!

Say ‘I take authority over you spirit causing ….  I bind you in Jesus Name and I command you to go. I break your power over my body in Jesus Name!’

You have the authority and the power, have faith in what Jesus said and just do it!

When you take the healing word in your mouth and begin to boldly declare healing to your body, declaring that the power of infirmity in your body is broken, that the devil of cancer leaves your body and every cancer cell is cured, you are resisting Satan.

Too many times as Christians we don’t recognize our personal responsibility in these matters, somebody will say, ‘ah Pastor I tried it but it didn’t work’ don’t try it, do it.

I say this usually when I preach, if Satan could not stop you from being saved from sin when you gave your life to Jesus, then he can’t stop you from being saved from sickness, salvation from sin and sickness came in the same package and we receive both by faith.

Are you plagued by a seemingly incurable disease? take authority over the devil giving life to that disease, command him to leave, then begin to speak healing words to your body, command that body to become whole, it is your body, God’s temple and He wants to be glorified in it.
